Ziyi was spotted at Toronto airport yesterday. Some pictures have been added to the gallery.

Dangeours Liaisons will be screened at TIFF for the first time on september 10th. Ziyi, Jang Dong Gun, Hur Jin-Ho and other members of the cast will attend this screening. The film will be also screened on september 11th and september 15th.

“Dangerous Liaisons” received many positives reviews at Directors fortnight, a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. Let’s hope the best for this festival !

News edited.

2 news stills and 3 pictures on the set of Dangerous Liasons were added in the gallery. We also had the chance to see pictures of yesterday when Ziyi was filming a scene for My Lucky Star in the Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore.

Ziyi was also featured on several articles of TIFF guest list. It’s very likely that she will walk on the red carpet in Toronto this year!

With the release in China next month, we have the chance to see more of Ziyi in Dangerous Liaisons. 3 new stills were added to the gallery today. I think we’ll get more in the next weeks.

Today, we had very good news concerning the film. Dangerous Liaisons was invited to be the opening film at the Busan International Film Festival (4-13 october, 2012). Hopefully, we’ll have the chance to see Ziyi there. Actually, she never went to this festival. The film was also invited to Hawaii Film Festival (also in october) and others.

Ziyi’s last film Dangerous Liaisons was selected to be screened at Toronto Film Festival in the Gala Presentations in september. After a world premiere at Cannes, the movie will make it’s North American premiere during the festival. Other films in the Gala Presentations include Silver Linings Playbook from David O. Russell, Twice Born from Sergio Castellito and Thermae Romae from Hideki Takeuchi… Other chinese movie making their world premiere at the festival include The Last Supper from the much acclaimed director Chuan Lu and the last movie from Chen Kaige, Caught in the Web.

Hopefully, Ziyi will go at TIFF this year. It would be her first appearance on the red carpet of the festival since The Banquet in 2006.

We have some really good news from Cannes Film Festival. Be warned, huge update.

Yesterday, Dangerous Liaisons was screened at Directors Fortnight. Unfortunately Zhang Ziyi wasn’t in Cannes because she’s still filming Wong Kar Wai’s “The Grandmasters”. Cecilia Cheung and director Hur Jin Ho was here to promote the film. The producer of the film reveald that the film showed at cannes was edited in a hurry.

Even if the film is not fully finished, it recieved a standing ovation at the end of the screening. Bellow several comments on the film:

It’s very human, romantic and sincere. I was touched and I even cried when the leading actor was breaking up with the innocent woman

Zhang Ziyi & Cecilia Cheung steal the show in Dangerous Liaisons. Zhang breaks your heart. Cecilia makes you root against her.

@filmfest

Dangerous Liaisons was exquisite, and brought in something new to familiar story. Cecilia Cheung is absolutely brilliant in it #cannes2012

And now, enjoy the first trailer

Moreover, The Grandmasters was screened in Cannes yesterday, not the whole film but a footage. Thierry Frémaux said that the footage was edited by Wong Kar-Wai for the festival.

The 5 minutes screened yesterday were focused on Ziyi’s character. Filmed in a snowy place, we can see Ziyi as a child looking at her father while he’s practicing his martial art. At the same time we see Ziyi training herself in the falling snow. The journalists who saw it were very impressed by the beauty of this footage.
A chinese journalist filmed the footage and posted it on Youku but was soon removed. A copy has been saved on Baidu. If you are too curious you can watch it here but be warned the quality is not good.
