The promotional tour for Forever Young has started and Ziyi attended various events. Yesterday, she was in Beijing at for a special screening of the movie for Phoenix Entertainment.

Today, Ziyi went to Nanjing to attend an event for the film.

The premiere of Ziyi’s new film Forever Young took place in Beijing a few hours ago and the cast was there to promote the film. A few pictures of the event were uploaded to the gallery.

The Wasted Times won big at the 9th Macau International Movie Festival tonight winning every awards it was nominated for, such as Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor. Ziyi was present at the ceremony to accept her prize.

Yesterday, Ziyi was in Guangzhou to attend the 2017 Film Gala. She was awarded the prize of “Film Staff of the Year“. Ziyi’s last film The Wasted Times was named “Recommended Film of the Year“, while Yan Ni won the prize of “Recommended Supporting Actress of the Year“. The Birth of an Actor was also honored with “Business Model of the Year“.

The long-awaited film Forever Young will finally be shown in theaters, after almost 5 years of post-production. The cast and the director attended a press conference in Beijing to annouce the official release date, which will be on January 12th, 2018.

The film, written and directed by acclaimed writer-turned-director Li Fangfang, was originally planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Tsinghua University in 2011, with a budget of over 100 million yuan. The story covers four generations spanning a hundred years of modern Chinese history since World War II.

Actress Zhang Ziyi and actor Huang Xiaoming both mentioned in previous interviews that they cried after reading the script. By the end of 2012, the film had finished shooting but nothing has been heard since. Director Li commented in June 2014 that she is extremely meticulous about post-production and the film will be ready for release by the end of that year. However, it was not.

Sun Zhonghuai, CEO of Penguin Pictures and Vice President at Tencent Holdings Ltd., one of the film’s producers, said the nearly 6-year wait has made this production “a legend” in Chinese film industry.
